Australia’s peak national event for the stone fruit industry. Held each year, the Summerfruit Conference brings together growers, exporters, researchers, and industry partners to hear from leading speakers, connect with the community, and shape the direction of the industry.

The conference spans two days. Day one features the conference program and SAL’s Annual General Meeting, covering levy program updates, market access briefings, research presentations, and industry Q&A, followed by an industry dinner and awards evening. Day two takes attendees into the field, with a hands-on R&D field walk at one of Australia’s leading horticultural research facilities.

Who attends:

Growers, packers, exporters, researchers, agronomists, government representatives, and industry partners from across Australia.

Pricing:

SAL members receive discounted registration. Non members are welcome to attend. Check the current year’s registration page for pricing and inclusions.

Grower Field Days & Regional Events

Field days put practical knowledge directly into growers’ hands. SAL facilitates and supports field days at research farms, commercial orchards, and trial sites across Australia’s growing regions, covering topics from orchard systems and crop load management to biosecurity, technology, and post-harvest practice.

Regional events vary by season and are designed to be accessible to growers where they are in the Goulburn Valley, Young and Orange, Swan Hill, Sunraysia, the Perth Hills, Stanthorpe, and beyond.

What field days typically cover:

Current R&D findings and trial results, demonstrations of new orchard systems and technology, biosecurity updates, seasonal management practices, and the chance to ask questions directly of researchers and agronomists.
